Union Hill – The remaining work to list our rental

Once I took the photos for our refi, it was clear how close we are to renting the last apartment in our Union Hill triplex. It is now May 1 – four years after starting this renovation. Our goal is to have it listed and move-in ready on June 1. Here is our punch list to meet that goal:

  • Back bedroom closet: cover exposed pipes with drywall, trim door, trim window, install crown and baseboards, paint
  • Laundry: tile floor, install baseboards (needed?), install washer and dryer
  • Kitchen: install cabinets next to refrigerator and across from stove; cut and install butcher block counter
  • Bathroom: touch up vanity, install shower handle (could be more involved than I expect)
  • Closets: install clothing rods
  • Electrical: electrician to look at outlets in bedroom and kitchen
  • Kitchen: test appliances (we missed this last time… a costly mistake)
  • Paint all baseboards and window/door trim
  • Clean
  • Hang curtains and add rugs

I think that’s it? I’ll be honest, it’s a little overwhelming documenting that because there is still a LOT to do. But it’s doable… better book the babysitter now!
